UFC Light Heavyweight champ Jon “Bones” Jones was arrested early this morning for DUI after he totaled his Bentley in upstate New York … TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Jones was involved in an accident at around 5:00 AM in Binghamton, NY. We’re told the car — which Jones crashed into a pole — was totaled and cops arrested Jones on the scene for DUI.
According to our sources, Jones was taken into custody by Broome County Sheriff and bailed out a few hours later … by his mom. Jones is from nearby Ithaca.
Jones last fought on April 21, defeating Rashad Evans by unanimous decision.

Bloodyelbow.com has it:
The future of UFC great B.J. Penn has been in a bit of doubt following his apparent retirement following his UFC 137 loss, when he said “Joe, this was probably the last time you’ll see me in here. I can’t keep performing at the top level. That’s it Joe. I got a daughter and another daughter on the way, I don’t want to go home looking like this. I’m done.” Last month, UFC president Dana White said that despite having “heard some s**t” about Penn being retired, when he talked to B.J., he said that he was going to fight again.
There was also a story earlier this month where Dana said that he had tried to make a fight between Penn and Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez, but that Penn told him he wasn’t fighting for a while.

- Round 2: Maldonado out-landed Pokrajac 26-13 in significant strikes, 60-18 overall.
- Round 3: Maldonado out-landed Pokrajac 36-17 in significant strikes, 59-30 overall.
- Overall: Maldonado’s success-rate for significant strikes was 72% (98 of 137), compared to 45% for Pokrajac (36 of 80). The final overall striking total was 166-64 in Maldonado’s favor. Of course, some of Pokrajac’s shots ranked among the most effective of the match, and he did score a takedown in round 1, but was Pokrajac’s strike-quality really enough to overcome Maldonado’s overwhelming advantage in quantity? And are body-shots the new leg-kicks, in terms of MMA judges not giving them enough credit?
Sketchy decision aside, Maldonado vs. Pokrajac was a highly entertaining scrap that was a clear front-runner for UFC on FUEL 3‘s Fight of the Night award — until Zombie vs. Poirier came along and snatched the bonuses away at the buzzer.
